This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time: movie footage of London shot in 1904. This clip is an excerpt from a 12-minute long video that was made as a travelogue to lure visitors from Australia. It is a fascinating and all too brief glimpse into the vibrant, teeming London of Sherlock Holmes.

Susan, where on eartht did you find this? I love it. London is so different today in terms of vehicles and costumes bet some of the buildings look the same. How fun.

That was WILD! I had to watch it twice. I wanted it to last longer and linger on all the people so I could study them. Imagine all those people are now dead or if born that day now would be 104 years old! How busy it was then.

I watched the video with my 8 and 10 year old daughters. They have necer seen anything like it before. They thought the people danced funny. I love hisorical stuff like that.
