| New US record sale? asks Wall Street Journal | ||||||||
The Beverly Hills office of Coldwell Banker has listed what the Wall Street Journal says could be a property that will set a new US record for a home sale. Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker's Beverly Hills office listed the $125M property on behalf of Suzanne Saperstein, the recently divorced wife of Texan millionaire David I Saperstein. She got the house. Modeled on Versailles and other French palaces, the 45,000 square foot estate, known as Fleur de Lys, ties for second place most expensive listing price with Donald Trump's $125M listing of his Palm Beach mansion. First place belongs to Prince Bandar bin Sultan's ranch in Aspen, CO which is listed for $135M. The US record for a house sale is believed to be Ronald Perelman's 2005 sale of his Palm Beach estate for $70M. Fleur de Lys has five acres, took five years to build, has Italian marble walls, French limestone floors, gold-embossed leather wall coverings and gold leaf crowned moldings. Rooms include a ballroom with ceiling fescoes, a library with a first edition book collection, two kitchens, a screening room with seating for 50. It also has a 3 bedroom managers house and staff quarters for 10 staff, a nine car garage and a ¾ mile jogging track. Get your check book out. | ||||||||
Congradulations to Joyce Rey of Coldwell Bankers on a fantastic listing. I wish her the best of luck in the sale of this great listing. Four members of my family including myself are Realtors with Coldwell Bankers in New Jersey and New Hampshire. We love referrals and if Mrs. Saperstein would like to move to New Jersey just let us know. We'd be more than happy to sell her a home here.and pay a referral fee... Let's see, just what would the commission of this sale be? My highest sale so far was $3,200,000 but I'd be more than happy to pay that referral fee. Again, Good luck.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to spend that much on a place to live. I agree with Carole that the money could be put to better use. On the other hand congratulation to Joyce, we live in a material world and someone would earn that commission so hats off to you Joyce.
