Cats! Six Purrrfect Pet Blogs

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Positive Real Estate Professionals

This is the second in what I hope will become a regular series that should come out each Friday. Yes, I do realize it is Saturday but I have been very busy but will try to keep to a regular Friday release for this series. Now on with the show, wait did a mouse say that...maybe not the best line to bring up in this post.

In this post I am going to highlight cat lovers, or more appropriately websites devoted to the feline companions of some great bloggers. If you don't like cats, don't know why someone would spend their time writing and/or reading about someone's cat, then perhaps you should stop reading now. Personally, I am a dog person. This does not mean I do not like cats. Cats make great animal companions. Often they get a bad rap for being aloof or sneaky. I really think that these are human traits projected onto cats, perhaps by those who wish to be aloof but can't quite pull it off, or see a sneaky side in themselves. Whatever the case may be, cats can provide unconditional love and comfort needed to make those occasional gray clouds move away.

Here are six wonderful blogs by cat owners, click on any of the icons to visit their sites. The writers can undoubtedly be be termed cat enthusiasts. It takes an enthusiast to devote an entire blog to your cat(s). If you have the time and would like a chuckle please take a moment to visit these sites, and don't forget the catnip. Some of them say they are off the stuff, but really who do they think they are fooling?

I loved and owned cats years before getting into dogs.  I am cat-less for the first time in my life and it doesn't feel right.

I have to admit I have been on a couple of these blogs before but then I also have a myfurryfriends blog.  We have 2 cats and a dog.  I love our dog but I have to admit I'm a bigger cat person and always have been.  I just love their independence.  You don't own them they own you.

Rich, what a great post. You are so right. I used to be a "dog person" that is because I did not know. Now we have two cats and they give us affection, greet us when we come home. Talk to us etc..People who never had a cat buy into this false rap that cats get. Thank you again for a great post

My cat is my best buddy. Where ever I am in the home he will be right next to me. When it's time to go to sleep he will poke at me until I lay down (so he join me of course). Truly magificent animals.

Putting a Cat on a Diet

Fat Fluffy and Portly Penny may seem like they are rather cute, waddling into the kitchen for their food and cautiously navigating the sea of feet that tend to wander through one of the busiest rooms of the house. But in reality, your cute Pudgy Wudgy is not in a healthy state and could be in jeopardy of some serious health complications related to feline obesity. Putting a cat on a diet is one of the healthiest steps you can take to ensuring your Wally Whale lives a good long and healthy life.

Just like with people, a reduction in food intake is likely not going to be enough to curb the problem, especially if it has been going on for a number of years. Aside from putting a cat on a diet, he is going to need an increase in stimulation as well as an increase in physical exercise.

A high fat content in any animal is not healthy. Just like the homo sapiens, felines and other creatures that are obese run the risk of heart disease or heart problems as well as joint and back problems, diabetes, and the complications related to such issues. Obesity in animals can shorten their life span anywhere from three to seven years. Thus, if your furry friend is toting around a few extra pounds, it is prudent that you not only alter his dietary intake but promote a healthier lifestyle for your cat.
