My husband and I had the weekend to ourselves. We got a taste of life with them grown and on their own, the good the bad and the lonely. I wrote a little Haiku that sums it up for us.
Little hands hold mine

We as parents put so much time and energy into the raising of our children. I hope they are never really gone far. I do like the times have with just my wonderful husband.

The empty nest syndrome passes quickly. (At least it did for me) Then, just as you get used to a quiet house and renewed time with your hubby the grandkids come.

Time does fly by and now I am enjoying the grandchildren - but the house is always quiet when they are not there and I do like the quiet time also ----
Dinah: What is next to come ? Why... it's the kids starting to call mom and dad... and wanting to move back home for awhile. Get ready... it might start happening soon... LOL.
Ours is 23 and there is a lot to miss, and a lot to enjoy . Thanks for the post and the thoughts . It made me smile this morning
