A GPS Finally....

By
Title Insurance with Pioneer Title Agency

I have been against purchasing a GPS because I was always under the assumption that they did not work well where I live. So many of my clients have called to let me know that their car got them lost!

When my family goes out of town I am the GPS. This always causes an argument because I almost always get lost. I am looking at scenery or talking to the kids or reading or whatever else I do that causes me to miss turns. This frustrates my husband to no end. He does not enjoy getting lost.

I quite enjoy getting lost.....I think it's usually more fun if you don't know where you are. You will find all sorts of things that you never thought to look for. Maybe a neat mom & pop restaurant that has the best food.....you just never know.

Well too many of my clients have now asked for GPS coordinates so I knew it was time. I broke down and bought one.

I am enjoying so far but still haven't found out everything it can do. I seen that I can revise my maps so that's good. I was excited to find out that I can load all my music on it! Yes, I am still that far behind in technology that I don't have an ipod.

Anyway I will miss getting lost from time to time but maybe it'll show me a few new places that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. And it will also save bickering in the car and that just can't be beat!

Oh Mandi, you will love your GPS and wonder how you got along without it.  We bought one for my dad a few years ago.  He has said that it was one of the best gift he ever received, besides his delightful children.  :)  He can see the roads coming up before he gets to them.  This could be a lifesaver for aging eyes.  I love mapping out my route on Microsoft Maps and then putting in the addresses ahead of time when I'm showing houses.  It takes a lot of pressure off.

It really comes in handy when your client adds on a property to view and saves a lot of paper and time.

Mandi... I was showing an out of town client property outside of my county and my client bought me a GPS because he was tired of me making wrong turns! How cool is that?

Hi Mandi - I have had my GPS for a year now, her name is Molly.  Molly is without a doubt, my best friend.  I hate being late, she tells me the time I will get where I am going & where to go.  With all else a realtor has to do while driving (schedule appts, answer q's, eat on the run) it helps me out SO MUCH.

I heart Molly!  KM

Mel- I decided to buy a more expensive one so I didn't have to spend extra $ on an ipod & radio.....my piece of sheez CD player (GM factory) is going out. When I asked my best friend who happens to be a GM mechanic if what it was doing was normal she said yep....it's a piece. Well that was more info then you needed wasn't it?? :)

Kristin- Mine is named Mandy....so her name's a bit different but hopefully I will be saying that Mandy is my best friend before long too!

I haven't invested in one just yet, but I have been giving it some thought. The last time I really got lost, I was showing houses out of my area, and we accidentally found the house my client bought.

I'm also a fan of getting lost. I have found wonderful things all along the way. I was attempting to find a friend's office when I found my wife.

JL that must be an interesting story....do post about it! I found my husband when I decided that I didn't want to date anyone for at least 6 months.

I love my GPS! The only thing I can say negative about it is that I use it too much as a crutch when going to places I've never been. Rather than remember the landmarks and the road names, I find myself relying too much on the little British accented girl that keeps telling me "Off Route. Recalculating!"

Craig- I got that too....mine tried to send me through the neighbor's driveway to get to my house it's not even a road! Little British girl eh?

Elayna  Congratulations!  I had only one experience in which my GPS drove me to the woods towards the everglades and I freaked out. Other than that, I loooove it.

LOL It's funny what Craig says because I choose different languages for fun sometimes and I never choose girl voices. Too funny!
