Great News on the Retail and Restaurant Scene in Annapolis

One of Anne Arundel County's biggest retail projects will open its doors on Sunday.

Owings Mills-based Greenberg Gibbons Commercial Corp. is redeveloping the former Parole Plaza Mall to create a $500 million retail, office and residential redevelopment complex. The outdoor mall will include extensive streetscaping to create a Main Street-style town center, or what retailers dub a "lifestyle" center. The redevelopment follows a 240,000-square-foot expansion at neighboring Westfield Annapolis mall.

Target, P.F. Chang's now open at Annapolis Towne Centre 

Several stores at Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole, including anchor tenant Target, opened in October 2008. Other stores to open include Coldwater Creek, women's sportswear firm Lucy activewear and Great Gatherings, an Ohio-based firms that manufactures and sells game room furnishings.

Stores opening at Annapolis Towne Centre by Thanksgiving include kitchen store Sur la Table, Smyth Jewelers and Charm City Run. Restaurants will include Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant and P.F. Chang's China Bistro Inc.

Next year, the residential and retail center will welcome Whole Foods Market, 24 Hour Fitness and Arhaus Furniture Co.

Other stores will include:

Silver Diner,

Brio Tuscan Grille,

Eastern Mountain Sports,

Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Spa, and,

• White House/Black Market.
