| WALLACE, C. Robert Bob Wallace, 80, of West Hartford, passed away on Friday, (October 24, 2008) at St. Mary's Home. Born in Hartford on May 29, 1928, the son of the late Dr. Charles K. and Patricia Wallace, he is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Margaret (Peggy) Crane Wallace, his two sons and their wives Mark C. and Joan H. Wallace of Louisiana and Stephen S. and Jan J. Wallace of South Carolina and his daughter Susan E. Wallace of West Hartford. He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren Scott and his wife Bree, Dana, Dean and his wife Tracy, Christopher and Gregory and three adorable great-grandchildren Piper, Seth and Kaylee. He is also survived by his loving sister Betty P. White of Kennebunk, ME and brother Kenneth M. Wallace of Naples, FL. He is predeceased by his sister Catherine and survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob was Vice President and Consultant with Century 21 Clements and Sons Realty, Inc. in West Hartford until his death. Previously he was the President and Co-owner of the Barrows and Wallace Company Realtors establishing 17 offices throughout CT. and was the sole owner of The Wallace Co. Realtors. Previous to his long career as a real estate professional he was the manager of several Singer Sewing Machine offices in Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Bob was an avid tennis player, golfer and member of the Rockledge Men's Club. Bob served on the Board of Directors of the Hartford YMCA. He was the former President and Paul Harris Fellow of the West Hartford Rotary Club. He served on the Board of Directors of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce. Bob was honored as Realtor of the Year and was a past President of both the Multiple Listing Service and the Greater Hartford Board of Realtors. A Memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, November 1 at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford CT. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Rotary Club of West Hartford or St. James Memorial Fund.
