Brookings, Oregon Photo of the Week: A Southern Oregon Coast Photo Blog

Real Estate Agent with Blue Pacific Realty

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words....What better way to show off the beauty of the Southern Oregon Coast than through a photo blog!

As a Brookings native and a local Realtor, I find myself attempting to accurately describe the beauty of our area to visitors.  Time and time again, I feel that even after living here for nearly 30 years, I am not able to find the words to describe it with justice.  I have come to the conclusion that not even the most masterful poet could find the words to fully illustrate the beauty of the Southern Oregon Coast.

This will be the first of a weekly series of photos that I have taken to provide a guided tour through the wonderful community that I am proud to call home.

Harris Beach at Sunset ~ Brookings, Oregon

Harris Beach Brookings Oregon

Harris Beach State Park is a favorite of locals and tourists alike due to its inviting sandy beaches and beautiful vistas. The seascape includes numerous sea stacks and the largest island off the Oregon Coast, known as "Bird Island" or "Goat Island", depending on who you talk to. This island is a National Wildlife Sanctuary and a breeding site for such rare birds as the tufted puffin. Everywhere you look is a picture perfect scene!

Hello Amy- Great photo! I like how you caught the seagulls in flight. Whenever I try this they always turn out blurry. Have a great weekend.
