Twitter can be used many ways and is a great marketing tool. This article will show you some creative ways to use Twitter.

Okay once you have set up your twitter account make sure you set up your profile with your picture, a short bio with a link to your website as well. I recommend doing a search for friends on twitter, you can do a search on people that you may want to follow that relate to you and or your business.
When you are sending updates make sure you don't overdo it and promote your business too much, people don't like spam, have fun be interesting with it. You can go to twitter directly and post updates of course but there are a few other sites where you can do this too. Tweetlater is one site that allows you to schedule future updates/ tweets. It is easy to set up and if you are busy and don't have the time to post updates on twitter throughout the day this is a great time saver for sure. You can also customize a welcome message that automatically goes out to new followers on tweetlater as well.
There are also sites like hellotxt or jabber that allow you to send updates to Twitter as well as other social networking sites like facebook, digg..at the same time. This is a huge time saver! Also make use of direct messages by sending followers a private direct message, this will allow you to meet new people and network with them.
You can also link twitter to your blog, squidoo lenses, facebook or myspace accounts and many other websites. I link twitter to my blog, squidoo lenses and my ezine articles account as well. In fact when one of my articles goes live it automatically sends an update on my twitter page to all my followers. Also when I have an update/tweet posted on twitter, since my facebook, squidoo lense and myspace accounts are also linked it sends the updates to those websites as well for me.
If you have a blog you can also use Twitter Feed to post your blog updates and articles to your twitter account, much like I do with my ezine articles and active rain blog. Just log into twitter feed and use your open id, then put in the URL for your blog feed and how often you want to post it to twitter.
