On this oh so indulgent day of the year, I tried to think of a green living tip that actually complements the indulgence. As you or your children go Trick or Treating this year, why not use a reusable bag rather than a plastic Halloween decorated one that you will toss with the uneaten candy in about a month from now. When I was little, we always used pillowcases which can hold A LOT of candy and of course, mom and dad didn't have to go and spend money nor did I waste non-renewable resources in the process. I didn't know it at the time, but I guess I was being taught a little about conservation myself. I am sure I wanted a special decorated bag, but my parents were teaching me to use what we have and not to waste.
I also want to take this time to tell you my Halloween plans for the night which highlight a listing of mine. My family and I are leaving our neighborhood to go to a fantastic golf course neighborhood - the Greate Bay Golf Course - in Somers Point, NJ to meet up with my brother- and sister-in-law and nephew to trick or treat. The home I have for sale in the neighborhood is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath rancher with a living room and family room, a dining room, utility room, attached garage, and fantastically landscaped, huge yard - it's an oasis, I'm telling you. The neighborhood is perfect, curvy tree-lines streets that are basically only travelled by those who live in the neighborhood. The golf course is about 80 yards from the front door so you can have a lovely walk or ride. Check it out MLS # 327432.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
