As Promised, Thanksgiving Marketing Tips & Popby Ideas!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Fran Rokicki Realty, LLC

To make sure this is read within an appropriate time frame, I promised to post this early for those who are new to these suggestions on marketing to your clients.

Others who do provide these items to their clients, will stop by and post their popby ideas and marketing to your clients tips.  We are a fine community of very giving and helpful people.  Something, that during this season of Thanksgiving, we should be thankful for.

Here we go!

*  You can send each of your clients a note with a short Thanksgiving message on it.  Everyone receives Christmas cards, not everyone receives a Thanksgiving card.

*  Purchase turkey basters.  Add a tagline, some curly ribbon, your business card and deliver!  Inexpensive and very much appreciated by the receiver.

*  Cranberries - Your tagline could say, I am berry grateful for your referrals!

*  You could make minature loaves of bread and bring them by, days before the holiday.  We have the ChristmasTreeShops.com, and you could access them online.  These ceramic bread dishes are $.50 each. Target has them, also.

*  Great Harvest Bread Company will make you loaves of bread if you haven't the time to do it yourself.  They taste just like homemade.  They are usually made fresh, everyday!

*  Deliver ears of Indian Corn.  I am all ears for your referrals!  Or, I am earnestly working for your referrals!

*  Hold a clothing drive.  Ask for winter coats.  Many people will need them this winter.  Call your database and let them know about the event.  You could ask some of them to come by and help out.  Getting them involved makes them feel like part of your community.  Call the local press, they will be happy to run a FREE ad for you!

*  Have a food basket in your office.  Everyone who comes in could leave a canned food item.  Before the holiday, present it to the food pantry in your town.

*  We have a road race on Thanksgiving Day. in Manchester, Ct. Over 60,000 people attended and/or participated in the race last year.  All ages participate.  Years ago, I used to walk it.  My children ran with their friends. People dress up in themed costumes, several bands play live music along the route; from Irish bagpipes(Manchester is a very Irish town) to polka and rock bands, and even our Govenor Rell attends this event. It has become a Thanksgiving tradition for most! Some of the local mortgage and real estate offices are on the route.  They open their doors and serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels, donuts, soup, etc.  A small donation is asked for, and those monies are given to a local charity.  Many of the local restaurants open, too! It finishes up just before noon.  It's quite the event!  Meet new friends and catch up with the old!  So, find a local event in your area and go!  Be Seen!

Okay, now, let's hear from the rest of you!  I know we have many more good tips and ideas!  Share with us!  I am grateful to all of you for your contributions:)

It's a Good Life!

Thank you Charles and Margaret:)  I hope this post inspires others to give simple pleasures and then reap the good rewards.  We all like to be appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too:)  All of a sudden it seems to be coming up quicker than I had thought it would.

Great Ideas...I just stopped at a colleagues office today.  She was mailing out in large envelopes with craft projects....They were that craft foam trees, with colored leaves  that you write things you are thankful for on each leaf, then glue it on...she sent them some kind of brain jogger list of things to be thankful for, and a thank you note herself!

For now I keep cartoon stickers with me and I think Children likes it very much. But now I will try your "turkey basters" idea.

We sent out postcards with raffle numbers on them and then drew numbers for a free turkey.  It is a great way to market and make that long needed call to past clients.

Frances - You're so right.  You know come to think of it.  I think I'm going to send out Thanksgiving cards this year and include my business card - just letting them know I updated my info with a quick personal note.  I better get to it.  I'm running out of time.

Frances, just a heartwarming and sharing post.  THANKS, love the Buffini ideas and really know it works.  We just need to reach out and touch people in a personal way.  We are so computer and technology oriented these days, that we forget people need a face to face, and sometimes a hug.  THANKS for the reminder.

Thanks for sharing those ideas! I was just doing some research online about holiday marketing when I came across this article. My team and I are going to be doing a clothing drive this holiday season. We are big on door knocking and are leaving flyers in a geographic farms asking people to donate clothes/sweaters/blankets/etc. to a local charity. We ask them to call us when they are ready and we will go by and pick up their donated items. It gives us a chance to meet them face to face, and everyone is helping out those in need. Not only a great way to meet new clients, but also a great way to help those in need this year. Tis the season! =)

CarliAnn, Yes, giving to those who are in need, is always good:)  We used to hold clothing drives and have drop off locations, ie, the local high school, my office and a local car dealer who had two building locations.  It worked out, very well.  We donated the items to abused women and children shelters.
