5 Reasons Why You Should Keep Social Networking

By
Services for Real Estate Pros

Perhaps you have heard the statement, "people make the world go round."  People are the essence of social networking.  But just what does a person do when they are doing their best and things just do not seem to be working out?

It is amazing how huge a challenge seems when we are living through it.  It seems as though it will never come to can end.  We must remember that seasons come and go and so do challenges.  What might seem like an extended season of "dumpsville" it is just a season.  It came and it will go.  Nothing lasts forever as much as it seems like it will.

So here you are in the season of your life where you are doing all you can do and your best efforts keep you coming up on the short end of the stick.  You are doing all the right activity.  You are spending tons of money.  You are connecting with all the right people.  Yet there just does not seem to be that breakthrough you have been anticipating. What do you do?  Keep social networking.

Here is why you should keep social networking:

1. To stay connected with people

2. To keep your offering in front of the eyes and ears of others

3. To establish a sense of reliability in your mind and in the mind and others

4. To increase your favor in working large numbers

5. To prepare yourself for the new season that is coming

One of the most genuine activities we can ever be involved in is social networking.  We have to remember that if we are not connecting with people we limit our chances of getting through the season of "dumpsville."  This is when we have to breakthrough in our philosophy of life.  We have to decide to keep the decision we made when we first stated to pursue success.  Even when things look glim, we have to stick to our guns. The decision we made when we had a great attitude and tremendous hope is a major factor in concluding the season we are in and moving to the next one.

Stay in the game,

Ced, great reasons for social networking.  I need to do a better job in this area.  I think that I would add that you feel better and happier as a person as well when you're in contact with a lot of people!

Ced, I LOVE your AR picture. You look fun.

I take a lot of classes from Keller Williams here in Vancouver, WA. In one of my classes I learned a hint. Stop carrying your business cards. Sounds wild, huh? But in order to GET contact information from someone else, carry a tiny notebook and write down their name and promise to mail them a card. And then mail them a card and a note, and then of course contact them on a regular basis.

Jill,  thanks for the kind words.  I do try to have fun living everyday.  I like the angle not to carry business cards.  I do carry a business card that simply says, "CedReynolds.com" in gold letters on a black card. It makes people turn on the back side of the card (which is blank) and start asking me questions.  Thanks for your comments.

Jill, that's a good comment.  I was looking for an agent 3 years ago and let an agent know that I was looking to buy a home... she handed me her business card, I lost it, never called her, went to someone else who got my info and stayed in touch... I learned something from that experience and it's exactly what you said.

Hi Cedric - It's much easier to maintain a social networking presence rather than rebuild one. We may not know where the next lead comes from, or when the market will shift, but by being consistent in our online presence we will be better positioned when it happens.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!  Thank you for posting this and your encouraging words to work through this season while keeping in touch with people.  For some of us it is a challenge to constantly be looking for a way into meeting new and more people in order to increase the amount that know you and can call when the need presents itself.  At the same time life can be lonely and sad if we are only running from one responsibility to the next without connecting and getting to know the people along the way.  Terrific!
