One scary pumpkin, one charming trick or treater!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Lane Realty Eatonton, GA Lake Sinclair, Milledgeville, 706-485-9668 GREC# 169695

Halloween is my Donald's very favorite holiday.  I used to think it was the chocolate, but after a few years I figured out it was the Jack-O-Lantern.  He loves to carve and put the pumpkin out every single year.  He also makes sure it is lit all night long.

Okay with the flash his Jack isn't so scary, but I always love that he picks pumpkins that every one else leaves behind, so what if it won't sit flat on it's bottom.  He just works with whatever shape we find.  I loved the one this year.  Soon it's going to be yummy pumpkin dump cake.  We live in the boonies, so we only get one sole trick-or-treater for sure each year.  Last year we had 3.  It was like a rush on candy at our house, but this year true to form just the one showed up.

And isn't she just the most adorible fairy princess you have ever seen.  The really funny part was our dog (an 8 month old Great Dane) was afraid of her with her wings on.  After she took thing wings off he just wanted to eat the flowers she was wearing.

It's a good thing her mom and I are friends. LOL.

Well we made it through yet another all Hallow's night and are well into All Saints Day and Jack did his job, no evil spirits are lurking around our house.

The only problem is... we couldn't get the Fairy Princess to take ALL the candy I bought ... you know just in case... and now we have to eat it.

I hope you all have a fantastic November.

Hi Tammy,
What a cutie your lone trick or treater was.  We had a great night traipsing around the neighborhood and then back home to hand out candy to our visitors.

John- he does every year.

Richard- You might be disappointed with the candy.  Donald isn't at all thrilled with the Hannah Monana candy braclets, but my trick or treater loved them.  We do have Peanut M&M's though.

Cynthia- She is just the sweetest little girl.  When her parents were ready to leave she said "I don't want to go"  I loved it.  Being an empty nester has been hard for me.  I miss my babies.

Great costume - what a cutie!  My favourite holiday is Hallowe'en... for the happiness of the kids, the imaginative costumes and for the unclaimed leftover candy that somehow always makes it to my belly.

Marie- I'm already sick of the candy.

Scott- My husband got a kick out of your comment and said he's just claiming the rest of our candy.

Tammy, we had far fewer children than in past years, as the wave of older kids are now off to college.  We did get a cute little bumble bee that loves our puppy JJ.  I invited her in and just like your great Dane, he was afraid of her in her costume!  I told her to come over again when she was dressed up!

That jack-o-lantern has got to be one of the very best jack-o-lanterns I have ever seen! I love it. I didn't even carve mine this year -- boo, boo, hiss -- I just stuck it on the front porch and hoped nobody would stomp on it. That's quite some talent on that pumpkin carving.

Elizabeth N- I miss my Abigail being that young and cute also.  Back before sassy mouth.  Of course the older she gets the better it gets.  Hopefully we are on the downhill side of her thinking grown ups are ignorant and overbearing now that she is 20.

Susan- Too funny that JJ was also scared of the costume.  After Audrey took off her wings Glen wasn't too afraid anymore, but still wanted to eat the flowers.  He loves to eat plants.

Diane- I loved Halloween when I was a kid, I think I trick or treated until my freshman year of college.  I guess part of the downturn is parents reluctance to let their kids have candy from strangers... and I do understand that.

Caren- This is her 4th Halloween and I get prepared for just this one little girl every year. So I think she's worth it too.  Plus my Donald loves the leftovers.

Joan- My husband loves carving the pumpkin and the pumpkin pie.  We do enjoy it.

Betina- what a neat way to look at it.  I'll have to share your comment with her mom.

Elizabeth W-You know I've missed some great pictures over the years, because he has done some really scary and some very cute ones and I just never thought about taking a picture.  I'm also going to have a pumpkin "turkey" that I'll show you guys soon.

Sweet piece, I liked the flavor of it -- a combination of irony and sweet detail, with lots of love.  And the fairy princess is a doll!

Tammy - That's one cute tricker treater!  I'm with Donald on this one - Halloween's my favorite holiday too.  Dave and I don't get too many trick or treaters that often, but I too deck the whole house out for Halloween and make sure to attract any potential tricker treaters with loud spooky music screaming from my window.  Works every time.

Hi Tammy, I love that Donald picks the pumpkin everyone seems to leave behind and makes a wonderful Jack-O-Lantern. There is something to be said and admired in imperfection. That Fairy Princess is sooooooo adorable. These are the times that create great memories in life.

Tam I just check and I cann't believe I haven't added you as an associate you are one of my favorite people on AR.  I corrected that immediately.

Kristina- we think so too.  I don't get to see her much, her mom was an agent before she was a stay at home mom.  Maybe she'll get back in the biz when Audrey goes to school.

Alexandra- I guess it does show when you are writing about things and people you love.  I'm glad you enjoyed it. I always enjoy your posts too.

Jessica- I used to do the music, but since the past 4 years my trick or treater has been Audrey, scary music was a bit much, maybe when she's older.

Lisa- I am laughing.  I asked Donald if he picked me because I was imperfect and left behind... he didn't answer.

Dinah- I have the recipe at the office, so I will post it tomorrow.

Oh and Dinah- the first time I did it was an accident.  I have a night setting on my camera.  I was taking a picture of the moon in New Orleans over the Mississippi and I moved the camera and in the picture the moon looked like it was sky writing.  Now I've figured out how to move it ever so slightly to make interesting pictures.  A mistake that turned into trial and error until I like the look.
