Rockville, MD Realtor needed for artsy unusual home

By
Home Stager with Capital Style Home Staging

I'm in a bit of a spot...

Within my family there are five Realtors.  I'm a stager who just picked up a client in Rockville, MD who needs a special type of Realtor; one that I don't "have in inventory".

This home is in a great location, but is funky, artsy and unusual.  It has a new two-storey addition of an arts studio, workshop and office, with amazing lighting.  With 3/1.5, however, and whacko dormer closets, and a powder room and basement access from inside the kitchen pantry, it has the feeling of a fairy's home in the woods!  I just love this place, but it will not appeal to the traditional family or couple, and desperately needs to be marketed in creative ways to creative people.  They'd like to list in the next 3 weeks....if they can get ready by then.

Anyone out there who can help?

Hi Jaynee, I would look for a local Watercolorist Society and see if you could invite the group over for a themed (forest ?) open house.  Is there a pretty garden at the house that they might enjoy visiting/painting?  Or at least drop off a beautiful color brochure of the house at their next meeting?  Even if the artists' were not in the market for such a special house, perhaps they might know someone.

You might even post color flyers/post cards at local art supply stores.  Most have bulletin boards for art show announcements and studio space so they might be willing to allow you to post if you stress the studio space.

Good luck with it!  I hope you will let me know it you got the listing...I'd like to see the photos!

Thanks for your ideas, Deborah; I love them!

I'm not a Realtor, however....I'm the stager.  I'm looking for a Realtor who can creatively handle this listing.  These sweet people need an effective and quick sale of their property so they can get started on the next chapter of their lives.

Jaynee, This is a nice way to give some great Realtor a good chance for a fun listing. Deborah's idea is a good one. Maybe the Realtor who takes up your challenge can use it.  BTW I LOVE your photo  -- a woman on the go!

Yvonne:  Thanks for the compliment on the photo.  The formal head shot looked like....well, a formal head shot.  Not much about me is formal!  On a whim today, I threw out this one that my son took last summer.  I like it because you can't see the bags under my eyes or my turkey neck.  And as a stager, you bet I'm on the go, just like you!

Kathleen:  I kind of thought I had, but may have missed the mark.  I put it in the DC Real Estate & Mortgage group, as well as Localism in Montgomery County, MD.  I didn't just broadcast it out there to all Realtors, since it's such a defined location and such an.....ahem....unusual property.  If you have thoughts to share, I'm a newbie with big ears!

Thanks, ladies!

Whoops I missed the "I'm a Stagger" part!  Hope you find the right realtor soon for your clients to be!  I's still like to see the photos of your stagging for the house, it sounds like it will be a challenge and fun to do!   :  )

Robert, what a good idea to come and meet you this Sunday,  Unfortunately, my weekend is packed with family events, and Sunday afternoon is our son's Eagle Scout Ceremony.  Family is beginning to arrive for the event within the hour!

Let's find an alternative time for me to meet with you, and perhaps to see both houses (I'll show you mine if you show me yours!)

In terms of the artsy client, I've told her that I'll activate my personal and professional network, and put her in touch with the finalists.  She, ultimately, must make this decision.

Thanks, buddy!

Jaynee,

If you don't have anyone yet.  Let me know.  We talked the other day about my multi-million dollar listing with lawn furniture. You were a big help.  Maybe I can do the same for you.
