Recently, I was asked by a potential first time home buyer client for 3 reference contacts. She specifically wanted to ask questions to my past clients that had purchased the same type of property she wants to buy. To accomplish this request, I needed to contact these clients and ask for their help, instead of providing the references I currently have on file.
First of all, it got me to make that long overdue keep in touch call. I don't know why I had kept putting it off. It was great to hear from them and everyone was doing fine. I asked their permission for the potential client to contact them and they all said ok. I thanked them, profusely of course, and hoped for the best.
What a delight it was to be cc'd by my clients in response to the first time buyer's request. I read all kinds of buzz words, including "great job", "patient", "knowledgeable" "high standards of professional excellence" "would highly recommend".
This past year there are so many negative influences, that some days it is hard to stay positive. How great it is to hear the good things too!
