Monday Night Football to Predict the Election Results?

By
Real Estate Agent with Kee Realty

I heard an interesting bit of trivia on the radio recently, that when the Washington Redskins play the game before the presidential election, that their winning or losing predicts the winning party? They are playing the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight on Monday Night Football at 8:30 ET.

I had to check it out, I know, this is surely a coincedence but never the less I found it kind of interesting.

If the Redskins win the game before the election, the incumbent party wins the election. This has happened for 16 presidential elections from 1940 to 2000 but the streak ended in the 2004 election when the Redskins lost to the Green Bay Packers, which would indicate the Democratic party should have won, but George W. was re-elected.

While looking this up, I also came across that both McCain and Obama are going to do a brief interview on Monday Night Football at halftime.

No matter who your rooting for tonight, enjoy the game and don't forget to vote tomorrow!

The game results in 2004 convinced so many people that the Republicans rigged the voting machines in several states.  Hmmmm.

That is really interesting!  I wonder if that means the election was supposed to have a different outcome last time?  According to the Redskins anyway.  haha  Thanks for sharing.  I'll have to turn MNF on now!

Darnit! Shannon beat me to the punchline!  Let me echo the words anyway though.... GO REDSKINS, GO!!!  I just spent an hour and forty-five minutes today doing my civic duty.  I found out today that I would be out of town tomorrow showing property and wasn't about to give up my right to cast my ballot!

Redskins lost Monday night, incumbent party voted out.

17 out of 18. Hows that for some trivia.
