It's been a while since I have been posting and I really want to get back into it.
Like many of you I am so frustrated by what this media frenzy has turned this crazy market into.
Here's my point of view about it.
In the area I live in we have had a rather steady market with only a few percent increase in the value of homes per year. Ranging from 3-6%. Unlike many hot markets we never saw a huge increase therefore the "market crash" didn't really affect our home values. Well it shouldn't have.
I have always thought of Westmoreland County as a service area. We earn our money from others buying our product then we go and pass it on to the next business. Years ago we lost the majority of our big industry and have basically been relying on each others services and business. SO with this said we've been ahead of the "financial crisis" for a long time. Everybody else is just catching up!!
Now the sad part is I have talked to many people who have absolutely in no way been affected by the market and yet STILL feel it's a bad time to buy a house. WHY????? It's a GREAT TIME to buy!! They honestly can't give me a good reason except they feel the media has made people believe we are going to be standing in bread lines!!
Doesn't it make sense that if you want to improve market conditions we should be PREACHING how great times are to come and that there is ABSOLUTELY no reason not to buy if you are qualified!! It seems that somebody is really enjoying creating chaos.
This concept of sellers being asked to rent out their homes to buyers who have no reason not to buy is ridiculously!!
I do feel like I should state that I understand that there are people in my area that have truly been affected by the market and I don't want it to look as those I am mocking them I am not. I am generally speaking!
Moral of my ranting!! Westmoreland County has been suffering a "financial crisis" as they call it for years we are ahead of the game-GO OUT AND BUY A HOUSE!
