March Residential Highlights
Closed sales increased 4.4% when comparing March
2007 to March 2006. However, accepted offers dropped
17.1% and new listings fell 15.3%.
First Quarter/Year-to-Date Trends
Comparing January-March 2007 to January-March
2006, closed sales were up 3.5%. Further, pending sales
increased 4.4%. However, the number of new listings
fell 2.8%. See table above.
Appreciation
Comparing the 12 months ending with March 2007
to the 12 immediately prior, average sale price fell 7.8%
($308,400 v. $334,400). Using the same formula we can
see that the median sale price also decreased 10.3%
($271,000 v. $302,200).
