Great way to "Stay in Touch" with Past Clients

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with Remax First Realty Ltd., Brokerage

We recently started a great, non-traditional way to keep in touch with past clients.

Our clients were calling or emailing us regularly to find out how much a certain property was listed for on their street or within their area.

We started using the MLS Buyer search program with all of our past clients, friends and family members so they would automatically receive new listings for their immediate geographic location.

They receive new listings in their area even before the For Sale signs go up.  They think that we are always watching the real estate market in their immediate area for them.

Now I find that rather than us staying in touch with our clients, THEY are staying in touch with us.

This works so well, I have since stopped my newsletter program to past clients (the ones who use email).

The best part is.......... This is something that won't cost you anything.

Good luck.  Hope it works just as well for you.

Doug, thanks for this. This "listing alert tool is available to most MLS's I would think. I've been paying for a marketing snapshot from Top producer, I was thinking about doing this instead. It is a lot more personal and more  piinpointed information

all the best

Really interesting concept Doug that I'd like to think about a little more.  In our area, it would be hard to pin down the area well enough to be relevant though.  A challenge of smaller towns I guess.  I do send listings to people when I see one come up on their street but it sure is hard to remember 20 years worth!

Good idea, and a great way to keep in touch with past clients.  I know most homeowners are always curious about what is going on in their neighborhood in regards to selling and buying homes.  I will definately take this into consideration.
