The diversion provided by the election has now mostly passed, and efforts to support your candidates of choice can now once again be focused on matters closer to home. Hopefully, some of the uneasyness and uncertainty that was in the air is also gone or dissipating as well. I have talked to several people who appeared to have been in limbo because of the election; afraid to make any "important decisions" until the outcome was known. Personally, I don't quite get it. I don't really see where one candidate or the other will make a huge difference in the short run, or the near forseeable future. Everyone knows we have been in an economic slump, and it will take time, more money, and some patience to get under control, no matter who is President. I know several people who were holding off on buying a home until after the election. Again, I don 't know what different results they were waiting for, but if having the election over and done with means more business, then I am all for it. America, let us unite, start making those important decisions again, and for God's Sake... buy a house!!
I agree. Let's move forward. It is also important to see how the market adapts to the news, and how specifically it will effect our business. At just about 10 AM EST the stock market is selling on the news, as did Europe last night. Favorable taxes and capital gain consequences may have new tax policies. All we can do is wait and see.
So true Kevin----we just have to wait for the lame duck to waddle out of the White House:) Watching the huge crowds last night there sure looks like a new confidence is in the air.
I think there will be a very brief honeymoon, then more fighting. Probably as bad or worse than before. If a people were to run their lives and make decisions based on elections, they would never have enough confidence to do anything of consequence. About fifty percent is unhappy all the time. This was another close one in popular vote and that 48% or whatever will probably not be very cooperative.
I also agree and am looking forward to what is to come and hoping for something better.
Dear Mr Corsa,
I am not into human politicking, too busy squirreling around. Good advice.
Your buddy Nutsy
I'm all for people buyer more houses Kevin! I agree with everything else you said too!
Yes Kevin, we do need to move forward and leave the past behind. Hopefully the economy will start to pickup and we can all start making money again...
