Do I really Have Room for a Client In My Car??

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 New Millennium

So, if you read my prior Blog "Junk in the Trunk? Nah Thats My Realtor Kit" you know that I carry a bunch of stuff in the back of my SUV. I really hate needing something and not having it with me. I also like being helpful to my clients and people in general. One day at the gas station a gentleman asked about parks in the neighborhood and I whipped out a map from my bin of forms. Of course, he got my card, too!!

But that's what's in the back....What's up Front and can I squeeze in the clients when I am fully stocked? It's getting harder! I recently purchased an aircard so I can utilize my laptop. I put the laptop on the passenger seat so I can get those BPO blasts and check e-mail (Only when at a full stop!!). I am thinking of getting a mount for the laptop which will hopefully free up room for a client!

The laptop is just the latest addition to my arsenal, Here is the rest, again in no particular order.....

Chapstick

cell phone

GPS

Keychain with pepper spray, SupraKey, SafeMLS Token and KEYS!

business cards

Baby Wipes so handy for sooo many things!

sign hangers

digital camera with extra lithium batteries

mileage log

purse

notepad

pens and pencils

napkins and tissues

trail mix

water bottle

flashlight

umbrella

gum

USMC Proud Mom window sticker

I think that is all but I am always open for more good ideas and hints. And here I am trying to downsize my vehicle - Ha - Ain't gonna happen!

If you could figure out a way to install a bathroom in your car, you'd truly have everything you need!

Take care.

I drive a small car and it is packed with many of the items on your list. I also have a travel bag for my toddler that is stuffed full of snacks, a change of clothes, a folding potty chair, books, and a drink box. Thank goodness I do not drive clients around.

Sounds great, we have a clear acrylic clipboard and pen sitting in the puch behind the drivers seat. We also have a laptop with a wireless card so we can be virtual and a printer.

Wow, you are fully stocked.  I would just be dangerous with my laptop in the car with me.  Chapstick is a definite must!  I travel light though, chapstick, cell phone, keys and SupraEKey are the bare necessities.

Renee, you don't need a mobile printer.  We have a standard printer and just hook it up to a laptop. We leave it in the car and use an adaptor to power it.  I think we got it for $30 bucks on Craigslist.  Other than that, I keep hand sanitizer in the car.

Renee, I keep almost all that in my SUV plus a case of water. We get dehydrated here in CA when we look at homes.

Mary - Not me, I wanted to be a Camp Fire girl but my mom said no! But all three of my kids were in Scouts and my husband and I were leaders. Yes, always be prepared!

Hi, Renee!  That's a great list!  I have put some items in a kit for my wife and forgot extra batteries (for flashlight and camera) but I think 2 invluable items are a roll of TP and a notebook (it's amazing how many times paper is needed but isn't around.)

Thanks for checking out my blog on realtors and inspectors, and for giving us your input!!  Happy Holidays!
