Attic Ladder Safety Tips...

By
Home Inspector with Complete Home Inspections, Inc. TN Lic#050

While inspecting a property in Brentwood, TN earlier this week, the homeowner was nice enough to leave the attic ladder down for me to use so I could get into the attic so it can be inspected. I could not resist the temptation to capture this and create my first online video...

What do you think?

Michael - OMG!  I can't believe it didn't go all the way to the floor.  Did you actually climb up this ladder?

Shouldn't there be a second stack of bricks for the other side of the ladder? LOL

Thanks for the post.  I have to laugh when I see this picture.  Everytime I take it for granted and think we all have common sense - another reminder that another person's brain works differently in the "dah" category proves me wrong.

There must be some pretty seious "issues" with the ladder and them bricks since you posted this blog twice. I guess the bricks aren't the best assistants in this case.

That thing looks pretty dangerous to me but it was nice for him to leave it down for you!

Michael----seems as though that ladder (or someone) is a few bricks short of a full stack.

Michael, What a nice thought. Homeowner leaves the dangerous ladder down for the home inspector. Maybe he wanted you to use it.

Maybe someone paid the homeowner to leave the ladder down for you to keep you from finding all of their other handy work. It also doesn't help when they cut the trusses to make the ladder fit.
