Charlotte NC Profile 2008 Economic Profile, Charlotte NC 2008

All Signs Point to CharlotteDespite the economic downturn, businesses and individuals alike are attracted to the thriving Charlotte region. Economic and commercial growth continues and Charlotte has all the advantages of one of the most rapidly growing metropolitan areas in the nation. Charlotte's residents are warm, friendly and in many areas the small-town flavor remains.

Located in the Piedmont region of the Carolinas, Charlotte is only two hours east of the Appalachian Mountains and three hours west of the Atlantic Ocean. New York City is 631 miles to the northeast and Atlanta is 256 miles to the southwest. Charlotte is virtually the 'center' of the Southeast.  In my opinion, Charlotte IS a world-class city and we have the activities, honors, employment and economic statistics to prove it!

I need to visit Charlotte as it has been quite some time and the place has grown so much. I love the signs pointing to different Charlottes... I need to tack one on there pointing out the mileage to my grandma Charlotte. :-)

Hi Chuck!  You just would not believe how much she's grown!  I was chatting with someone earlier today about the changes we've seen in Charlotte over the last 15 years and how we would NEVER have thought that we would have come this far.  We've had an amazing Mayor who has seen to it that the city continues to grow; forward-thinking is ALWAYS good when you're gearing up to be a world-class city!

Thanks for stopping by and when you come for a visit, let me know--I'll show you our gorgeous city!
