I've heard lots of ideas and opinions on the "Pay per Click" subject. I'm not sure if a "PayPerClick vs Free Search" argument is the right way to approach the internet marketing for an agent. This is not a contest! It is about what works best for a particular agent.
In some cases PPC might be the best and most effective marketing for you and the best return on your money. It is also a big help for new agents with new websites since it draws traffic to their websites. However there are lots of costs involved and if your website is not ready to accept lots of traffic and follow up with the leads, it can be a complete waste of money.
I know many agents that use PPC very effectively and I know some others that have completeley abandon it due to bidding wars and return on investment considerations. So, in the PPC, I think there is no "One Size fits All"
