Fear - Power Quotes Series

Yesterday, I wrote a post on PREP about the fear factor that is going on in the USA today. If you did not get a chance to read the article, I hope that you can swing by and check it out. I have to say that it is truly something that has a stronghold on our nation.

With that being said, we have 3 choices when it comes to fear. The first is for us to allow it to consume us and run our lives. The second is for us to ignore it all together, which is not a smart move at all. And, finally, the third is for us to listen to it, process it, and put it in it's place.

One of the things that I have never understood about fear is that people allow themselves to be controlled by it. And yes, I said "ALLOWS". The whole point is, you are the one that makes the decisions and you are the one that has to assess the situation. Once done, then you can move forward.

My hope for you today is that you find some form of inspiration in the quotes below.

If you get a chance, overcome your fear and click on the pictures to find some valuable information for today's time.

It was a high counsel that I once heard given to a young person, "Always do what you are afraid to do."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Fear nothing, for every renewed effort raises all former failures into lessons, all sins into experience.
Unknown

Don't fear, just live right.
Neal A. Maxwell

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Nelson Mandela

When our actions do not, our fears make us traitors.
William Shakespeare (Macbeth)

A life lived in fear is half lived.
Anonymous

Fear is the parent of cruelty.
J.A. Froude

Danny, good post, I think that some of the problem especially with the Stock Market is driven by fear.  Fear can be paralyzing if we allow it to be.  Good post about reacting to it, I liked the quotes as well!

Great post, Danny!  Fear is a natural thing.  And we experience it for many reasons.  The trick is ... does the fear control YOU? or do YOU control the fear?

I like to think I am in control.  It's easier to swallow.  :)

Great post with great points Danny!  Many will allow fear to control too many aspects of their lives!  I must admit, I let fear control me as well at times.

Danny - I would like to add FDR's comments from his 1933 inaugural address, "So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself -- nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." These words were spoken as we, as a nation, was paralyzed by the Great Depression. In comparison, today's economy is robust. Thank you for this excellent information.

Danny, this is a subject very dear to my heart.  Many people never stand up for what they believe in due to fear.  Fear of not being liked, fear of not being accepted, fear of being rejected, disliked, thought badly of.

I have never allowed fear to rule my life.  I have forged forward regardless.  Many times the fear was not in vain: my actions were not well received by some people.  Regardless, many others did appreciate my actions and I moved in the direction my heart dictated and for that I am all the better.   Even the greatest good effected will still have those who will disapprove and criticize it.  If you wait for a consensus, you will never make any progress.  Remember: today's heresy is tomorrow's dogma!

You can not ask for more than that: to live your life your way, to beat to your own drum, to follow your heart.  For that you need to unshackle yourself from fear.  When you reach the end of your days it is not fear that you wish you had more of throughout your life, but courage...

Great post and a great reminder, worthy of praise and a place of honor at the top of our Optimist Board.  Congratulations!

Charlie, that is weird. I have been right here.

Tony and Darcy, I would have to say that a lot of the issue that we see now is from fear.

Carol, I am with you. I control mine.

Rick, it is more about the long haul that the moment.

Fred, thanks my friend.

Mirela, thanks for the feature. I have to say that I live my life to the beat of my drum and what is good for my family. That is the only way I know how.

So many people allow fear to control them.  Great quotes, may I add another...

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.  Mark Twain

Good post, thanks Danny!
