It's that Time Of Year

Real Estate Agent with Resource One Realty, LLC

It's that time of year.  No, not Thanksgiving.  No, not Christmas.  It's the Chicago Bears vs the Green Bay Packers!  This coming weekend everything in Green Bay will come to a halt on Sunday from noon until about 3:30PM.  The streets of Green Bay will be empty and the bars will be full.

Unless you've experienced it, it's hard to describe.  If you're planning on an open house, plan on talking to yourself.  Taking out buyers, they must be from out of town.

There are quite a few Bear's fans in Green Bay and vice versa.  It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, rivalries in pro football!  There is usually a lot of talking smack and wearing of the colors.  There are also a lot of lunch bets.  Most of it is in good fun.  No matter who wins, it's a great time.

My children will go to the game.  I will be watching the game from my comfortable easy chair in my nice warm living room.  To get in the mood, it stand in my own line to use the bathroom, charge myself $6 for a beer and, after a great play, I throw popcorn on myself.

Let's hope it's a good game.  Go Bears!

Take care.

I love FOOTBALL...and I can appreciate your enthusiasm...sounds like you really get into it too! I love to cook all the "football foods" from Italian sausage w/ peppers and onions, to potato skins and nachos...and yes, you gotta have the beer! Sounds like you'll have the best seat in the house!

Very funny post here, Cindy.  I especially like the fact that you'll go out of your way to charge yourself $6 for that beer.  Yes, it is true, real estate will be dead in Chicago & Green Bay this weekend.

Go Bears is right. In 1922, when the American Professioanl Football Association changed its name to the NFL, Green Bay (1921) and Decatur/Chicago (1920) were already in the league. That's the year the Staleys became the Bears. You just can't get an older rivalry in the NFL. :)
