Sure, it can be tough as a self-empoyed Realtor, qualifying broker (with no employees to manage!), General Contractor, and green builder. Especially these days with the real estate market so stagnant. (Although must not complain as Albuquerque's market is not as bad as many other across the nation). There are always ups and downs and ups and downs again. But as I write this I feel so blessed that I am sitting in my home office as my two year old Eco Rio naps in the bedroom. I can't believe my fortune that I get to be here when he wakes up and read to him his favorite books "The Mitten" and "Big Red Barn". So some might say that if this market was doing better I would be away from my family making money, and isn't that a good thing? But instead, I am taking advantage of this slow time to be, really be, with my son and wife. (Although I am building a house right now, so that takes a lot of time-except that Eco and Anita often visit me at the construction site and help -or play). So I just want to send a shout out to this great big world "thank you" for my prosperity. And here I mean prosperity resignified-for really what is more valuable than being with the ones you love? I feel ever so greatful to be self-employed, my own boss, well that is, if you don't count Eco as one.
