To my brothers and sisters who have served honorably and felt the chill that comes when the Marine's Hymn is played...Happy Birthday!
For anyone who cares I served in the Corps from 1 May 83 to 1 Jun 2003. I went to boot camp at MCRD Paris Island. Was an enlisted Marine until 30 Aug 91 and was commissioned as part of the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Program (MECEP). I became a Data Systems Officer and then a Communications Officer. I served on 12 bases or stations, 2 Navy bases, three naval ships, one Army base and the PENTAGON. I have three sons (this will mean something to Marines); one born in Okinawa, one in Ft Benning, and one at MCAS Eltoro (classic Corps tradition of East Coast, West Coast and Overseas).
I miss you and am better for having associated with the finest bunch of Americans that you could assemble as a bunch of volunteers.
Here is to you...and to Our Corps.
Semper fi,
mike
