The 10 most ADMIRABLE characteristics of a real estate PROFESSIONAL.

Education & Training with Possibility.ca

People on Active Rain have been so generous and gracious with me as I develop this brand new skill (to me) called "Blogging". To express my gratitude I thought I'd share my experience of what I've learned about you and who you've been for me these past few days...

The 10 most admirable characteristics of a real estate professional. Yes, I'm talking about YOU! :-)

1.    Your products and services are tangible; grounded in reality like the salt of the Earth.

2.    You are focused and goal oriented.

3.    You have a sense of humour; you're able to laugh with me as we share and laugh at ourselves.

4.    You are motivated to find and keep your edge in order to stand out from the crowd.

5.    You are coachable; open to consider new ways to ensure products stand out while equally committing yourself to service excellence.

6.    You are knowledgeable about details such as home design, how a house is situated on a lot and the practicalities of micro and macro economics.

7.    You are dialed-in; you know what's going on in your community, who's coming, who's going, where the opportunities and threats are coming from.

8.    You are up-to-date on building construction, new technologies and how to sell the benefits of new and emerging technologies to others.

9.    There is a magical flow about you; your career, home and relationships ALL appear to be working.

10.   There is a calmness and ease to your demeanour, making your client's everyday frustrations and worries disappear...poof!

What inspires me about Blogging is the ability to share knowledge and ideas, contribute to others in a meaningful way, test new ideas in a dynamic environment and meet new friends, clients and associates. This is the perfect medium for me to learn, grow and express myself through writing...I love writing...and I love to read what YOU write!

I plan to hang out in the coaching & personal development groups, marketing forums as well as travel and personal sharing. I'm not quite sure how to explain Active Rain to my husband and two children. They think I'm sitting at my desk, in a comfy chair or at the kitchen table clicking on my laptop...they don't understand that I've really entered a whole new world! I feel like Wendy in Peter Pan...my family thinks I'm in my room...really I'm in Neverland.  :-)

To your unprecedented success in the face of a shifting, global economy!

Liz & Cat, I had no idea this article had been featured. I don't actually see any gold star...not sure where to look.  None-the-less, that's cool!  Gee, thanks.  :-)  I've had great trainers, as YOU would know!

Tony and Darcy, go ahead and print this list for your bulletin board. I'm honored. My only request is that you also post my website address along with it...www.possibility.ca...(I'm Canadian, eh!)  :-)  I offer lots of great tools on my website for free under the Tips & Tools tab.

...Oh...I see it now...the little gold star.  Thanks for pointing it out. I would likely never have noticed (I'm still overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information and contacts available on Active Rain).

Okay - focus, Tana (self talk) you must leave Neverland now and return to reality to finish the proposal you're working on...awe...shoot!  ;-)

Tana, I am so glad that you commented my post. Otherwise, I would have missed your post here. Great observation and summary. It is hard to follow all the rules but at least it is a direction to go. Whoever got all those characteristics will be able to run for president.

Tana,

To outsiders, like your family, blogging seems something way out there and even a good explanation sometimes doesn't get through to them. That's the way it is, I guess.

My intention wasn't to be rude...I haven't been online for quite sometime...I shouldn't be here now eather.

Paul and Tammy you are absolutely right about passion being a necessity.

Pat, Patty, VickieAnn - you're not kidding about spending all day here...being lost in Neverland. It's been really hard for me to focus on writing my proposal - I'm pulled to come back here.

Joddie, how old is your daugther? If she's anything like my 15 year old - she can't talk about my excess computer time! Ha! But at least she gets it, right Joyce?  My husband is looking at me weird...but like Esko said...it's hard to to those who have little experience online.

Jane - "zoom, zoom, zoom". Soon it will be my turn to enjoy the new car smell. I'm counting the days.

Thank you Elizabeth, Leesa, Alan, Diane, Craig and Sonja and so many others who commented yesterday. I will come back and explore your profiles and blogs on the weekend when I have more time. I promise.

Nathan & Everard...Preferred Lifestyle Advisors...very unique. I have not heard that before.

Liz, you're a dream for inviting me to this great party. It's on all the time! Don't you people ever go to bed?  ;-)

Hey Mott, isn't that a Meat Loaf song?...na...I'm thinking of "2 out of 3 ain't bad".  ;-)  I've been to your blog. I think you hold yourself to a pretty high standards. Both of my kids watched your Brain Power post. It really takes something to capture the attention of a 12 and 15 year old!  - Tana
