The BEST Way to Eat Good Seafood - At Auggie's in Leucadia (Encinitas) California

By
Real Estate Agent with eXp Realty of California, Inc. CA DRE #01490977

Folks who know me, and those who have chanced upon my blog, know that I am a dedicated foodie (there is no doubt after seeing this pic I suppose). I really appreciate good food, enjoy finding new places to eat, and love to share what I find with others.

Me and seafood at Auggie's House of Crab in Leucadia

As you can see, eating good seafood can be a real hands-on affair. Some of the best seafood is eaten in casual surroundings with the fingers, a bunch of utensils, a pile of paper towels, and good wine (or beer).

Auggie's Celebration Menu BoardI wrote about Auggie's House of Crab in Leucadia before so you can read more about it there, and enjoy some photos and a slide show. This was a serious dinner (the "big feast for two" - and yes, I shared it) which arrived in a gigantic bowl and was emptied on the paper on the table.

Snow crab, Alaska king crab legs, mussels, clams, head-on shrimp, corn on the cob, andouille sausage and red skins - what a feast. Terrific seasonings, great flavor, and every bite gone. A true compliment to any chef.

Auggie's is celebrating their 1 year anniversary and YOU get to celebrate too. It's happy hour all day every day (as you can see in the photo) with some great special prices and good house wine for only $3 a glass. The celebration lasts until New Year's Day 2009. Stop on by and enjoy. Tell Auggie I sent you - he'll appreciate it, and you will as well.

Wow Jeff, I didn't know you were a foodie, LOL. But it is clear from this photo that foodie might be an understantement, LOL. Is that your own foodie bib or did Auggie's supply it, LMAO!

So Jeff.....I guess you like food? You write a lot about it. Hey be careful because I wrote about our local movie house and get calls all the time asking me when the next movie is playing...also some guy said he lost his wallet in the seats so I told him to tell we which row:) Be careful because if your blog is powerful enough you might have to start taking reservations:)

Jeff, that looks like fun. A place to see food with your fingers and no plates. I have never heard of any place like this, fun, fun, fun.

William - nah, normally I don't use (or need) a bib. Auggie's has these in stock. Takes me back many years. LOL

Rich - I thought of you several times. More crab legs to eat than I have had in a long time. Outstanding, and I didn't have to catch them myself.

Neal - that's me, the reservation taker. LOL. Maybe I should just go be a food critic.

Missy - it was great. We did have small forks to get the crab meat out of the legs, but some foods, like shrimp, are just made for the fingers.

Rita - it was a terrific meal. Come visit. It's funny but when I read food/restaurant posts it always seems to get my stomach going. I try NOT to write on an empty stomach either.

Eleanor - yep, and the photo from the camera phone does NOT do it justice.
