Active Rain on LinkedIn???

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Christine Wade

I spent the better part of the afternoon going around to the various social networking sites that I am a member of and updating my profile, making new connections, adding blog feeds and joining groups.

When I was in LinkedIn, I joined a couple of real estate groups and then thought that I would see if Active Rain had a group over there.  None of them look like they are official AR groups; however, several use the AR logo.  There are 8 groups related to AR.  Why?  Is there a way to consolidate them?  Should Active Rain start an official group over there?  I know that they have a representative on Twitter, perhaps we should have one for LinkedIn as well?

I would love to connect on LinkedIn with you.  I joined the two "AR" groups with the highest membership numbers (still pretty low), but I think we should have an official Active Rain group / home on LinkedIN.  What do you think?

Here is my profile on LinkedIn if you would like to connect with me, just let me know that you're from Active Rain!

Sounds like they should look into that--what you are saying makes sense!

Tami - thanks for the comment!  Hopefully they will look into it soon, but so far my request that I put into support hasn't received any response...they're usually really quick to get back to people.

Christine, I have begun to do research on different social networks, I just don't want to do it 24/7. I need to feed the family...

Paul - thanks for commenting (as well as commenting back to my comment that I made yesterday on your blog)!  Social networking is just that...work.  It needs to be built into your business schedule just like any other marketing activity worth it's salt...whether it's done by yourself or your Real Estate VA or your in-house assistant...the main thing is that it needs to be stayed on top of.  Feeding the family is of course important...but this is just another block that you must drive through on your way to the grocery store ;-)

Brian & Jack - Thanks for commenting!  I never got a response back from the Active Rain powers that be, not sure if it got lost in space or if it's just at the bottom of their priority list or what?

I have accepted both of your invitations on Linked In.  Thanks again!

I am comfortable with AR and trying to learn more about Linkedin.  I have only 10 connestions so far and more invitations out, and I'm trying to determine the best way for me to benefit from it best.  I do spend a great deal of time blogging and writing and maintaining my database, so I do want to leave time for working with buyers and sellers too!  I athink an AR group on Linkedin would be great!  There are so many Ar members who are also on AR - we should be able to easily connect in both places.

Well Ar is playing its little games today.  I have been trying to edit my last comment and it won't let me.  The last sentence, of course, should have read: I think one AR group on Linkedin would be great!  There are so many Linkedin members who are also on AR - we should be able to easily connect in both places.
