Feng Shui Consultant - And Beings of LIGHT

Feng Shui in New York

As many of you may know, my daughter, Laura Cerrano is also a Feng Shui Consultant practicing primarily in Manhattan and New Paltz.  She sent me this picture, taken on Election night with a small Cannon Digital Camera.

It was shot right on the New Paltz campus when those who supported President Elect Obama went out to celebrate.  She had told me the Energy was intense that evening; some people were crying, some cheering and some just watching in awe at the scene.

We are frequently in Client's homes and they allow me to photograph them.  On occasion, we have seen orbs show up in the photos later-most particularly if the clients appear to be anxious or are speaking of issues with spirits they may feel.

There is no definitive explanation for Orbs.  Parapsychologists often believe them to be "Spirit Energy."  Some can be explained as dust particles or rain.  Another theory is that we ALL give off Energy and as it changes form, it can create round balls of light-ORBS.  We were both struck by the amount of Orbs in this photo-and not a raindrop in site.

I thought I would share the picture with you and ask you---many of you take photos quite often.  HAVE YOU EVER GOTTEN ORBS?  If you have, what have YOU attributed them to?

I must admit I have heard of auras but not orbs...I sort of think anything is possible!

Hi my friend, My Canon Camera got these quite a few times....the shop said there was water damage to the camera, and once it was a chip failure.  I like your idea better.....sounds more intriguing than water damage :)

Joni, I'm surprised, it seems a lot of people haven't -- It's an interesting shot though.

Kathy, Laura's had this camera and only on very rare occasions gotten an or or two---I like my theory better too but who knows?? :)

I finished a vacant property staging and was taking photos in the family room in the walkout basement.  There were mini-blinds on the windows, and low-level pot lights in the ceiling.  I raised all of the mini-blinds, turned on the lights and took my shots.  When I loaded them on the computer, they are completely un-usable because of the orbs.  I attribute THIS instance to dust particles sent flying when I raised 6 sets of mini-blinds in a vacant house!  I have had other orbs, (in a Victorian house I owned) that I think were not just particles, There was a waviness to the light, although the rest of the shot was clear.

Cheryl, The ones from the vacant may well have been from dust but I have to wonder why, in the homes people feel uncomforable in is where I'll sometimes find them.  Those are only a few but this photo was more then I've ever seen.

LOL Carole - I always thought they were due to smudges on the camera lens or raindrops on the lens?

My most unexplainable "orb" ( never knew the name until now) I would have to dig up from my childhood photos in a box. My girlfriend took pictures with my 1st camera ( we were in 8th grade) at the cemetery and she just starting snapping photos cause she wanted to try it out - I snatched it from her ( I just felt very uncomfortable with her doing that )..... sure enough when the photos were developed ( remember backin the day you had to drop your photos off and then go pick them up days later LOL ) ...there was an outline of something in the back seat of our vacant parked car!

It was unexplainable.

Sincerely,

Grace

Grace, They have a name alright :)  I got them on occasion on my 35mm camera too and would also get the pictures back and stare at them.  I never photographed a cemetary---but there is ENERGY there--for sure.  I know some people attribute them only to the camera but I don't.  And isn't it interesting WHERE you got them?  Thank you for sharing that!

Carole - I have had quite a few orbs lately.  I thought maybe my camera had dirt on the lens or something, but they are not in every photo.  Now I know what they are.

Oooh Ooooh, i had to comment on Grace's comment!  I used to live in a very small town, here in Colorado that has a phenomenon occuring in the cemetery that has been chronicled for over 50 years, probably longer.  I never took the time, when I lived there, but many people say that if you sit at the cemetery at night, there are visible orbs of light floating all around.  Not just on pictures, but right there in front of you.  It doesn't happen every time, but Life or Saturday Evening Post did a story back in the 60's about it.

Chastity, I recently visited what is considered to be one of the most "haunted" places on Long Island...I didn't download the photos yet but I'm curious if anything will show up!

Cheryl, I know some people don't believe in them but I've gotten a few in homes where the owners say there is "energy."  I have never seen them in person but I would love to!!

Gayle, It amazes me where they show up!  I don't find them often but when I do, I wonder!

Tami, It would be interesting to see and remember where you were and what you were doing.  I honestly don't think it was the camera...not on that night.

I have gotten orbs many times at different places. I have taken pictures several seconds apart and gotten orbs on one photo and not the other. If it is backscatter, why wouldn't they show up on both photos. This photo was taken in side Mammoth Cave KY. I was about 250 feet below the surface. I took two pictures, this one, and a second about 30 seconds later. the orbs appeared on this one, but not the second. There was no moisture in the cave and no running water anywhere aroundorbs in Mammoth Cave KY

Here's one of my 87 year old Dad at Halloween dressed as the grim reaper (his idea!) There is a large orb sitting in his lap

This is truly fascinating. I blogged about it once when it first happened to me. I took a picture of my son waiting for the school bus. Freaked me out because nothing was there but when I started processing the photographs a glowing orange orb was floating near his head.

Susan, Your pictures facinated me!  Thank you so much for posting them.  I know people believe they are the camera--and I don't believe so in many cases I believe it's something else.

Carolyn, I'm so sorry I missed that blog but you're welcome if you like to put a link here!  I am convinced that are not always the camera--and don't get them in most pictures either but when they show it's always wonderful weatherwise or I would attribute it to rain.

Carole - I was out taking photos today of some vacant rentals and 1 picture out of all of that I took came out with orbs and I instant;y thought of you and this post.  It kind of gave me the weebie-geebies.  I had taken so many in that house, but when I came into the living room there were the orbs in the pic.  When I take a photo with my digital it pauses for a couple of seconds and shows me the last photo taken.  I don't know, but it almost felt like something or someone was there with me.

I don't recall orbs in specific photos I have taken but now I will have to go back and look. This is a great post on a very interesting subject.

Yes I get orbs in many pictures.  Believe it or not, in getting pictures done to list my house last week, both myself and a friend of mine took many pictures of different rooms, and many of them we had to toss out because of the orbs in the pictures.  We both used different cameras.  We both are interested in learning more about orbs.  It is a very recent interest. I use air cleaners in my home, and the home is quite clean and allergin free, so we have big orbs and many smaller orbs in different pictures without any real explanation.  I found your Obama picture quite intersting.   It hasn't been just with this house, but others we have had before, and with different cameras.   I also have an interesting picture of myself with an orb above my head while I was contemplating artwork at the Louvre in Paris.  Thought it was annoying until just recently in seeing that photo, thinking that somehting must have been wrong with my digital camera.  Maybe there is .. unsure.

Cheers, Matt

Turn off the flash and the orbs go away.  If you still need a flash, try moving the flash further from the camera lens.  This, of course, means you need an off camera flash.
