Got Bees? (More uses for infrared)

I was scanning a home during a normal inspection and the bright spot on the right caught my eye.  I took a closer look with a zoom camera lens and found the nonpaying tenants to the left.

Bee nest IR Bees Nest

They were up high enough that I may have missed them without the IR

They had not caused any damage that I could find, so an exterminator was called.  Always call a professional to deal with bees.  The sting factor is one thing but there are special rules in many states to deal with honey bees.

I had a huge bee next in my chimney one time when I came home from vacation. The inside of the house was a mess. It took a couple of days to clean everything up. I love bees as long as they are outside pollinating the flowers -- LOL.

I have seen the same thing from the inside.  The nest was in the attic and warming up the sheet rock.  Nice pic.
