Laurens County in Upstate South Carolina is scheduled to get a $420 million titanium manufacturing plant (American Titanium Works LLC,) where they will will make ingots, plates any various titanium alloys in a more cost-efficient way than those used presently. They are looking at creating 350+ jobs with 30 of research and development jobs working at Clemson's ICAR campus. The jobs will pay about $20 an hour.
