Gilbert Days! Arizona Small Town Festivities Offer Big Time Fun

Real Estate Agent with Utah Homes 9334967-SA00

"Festival" by Yarik MissionIt's here!   Gilbert Days 2008!

Beginning 9 a.m. Saturday November 15, downtown Gilbert will be awash in small town fun and festivities.

It all begins with a parade route that travels down Gilbert road from Juniper to the Town Square.

Then it's on to the Gilbert Municipal Center (South of Warner Road) for a party that lasts from 11 a.m. 'til the cows come home. (Note. The cows go at 5 p.m.)

The parade just keeps getting bigger and better.  Expect to see plenty of floats, cowboys, horsies and any number of creative entries who will present their interpretations of the theme "Country Pride."

This isn't a one-off celebration. There's a carnival on November 22 & 23 along with a rodeo on the same days.

Of course, if you'd like a full slate of activities and directions, there's a handy website to find out more:

Chuck, I totally love parades  It must come from my high school marching band days!  We had them at the drop of a hat.

Chuck, I heard the sad story of the band student today, and have been praying for that family and those young kids ever since... Just wanted you to know my heart is hugging your community today---and tomorrow...

Update: Kelly Tracy and her brother Matt were en route to the the parade. They were stuck by a drunk driver. Kelly lost her life. In order to defray funeral costs, accounts have been set up in the name of the Tracy family at both Washington Mutual and Chase Bank. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Kelly was 16 years old.

Hi Chuck,
These small town festivals are the best and it sounds like this one has something for the entire family.  The cows go at 5pm???  Ok, I give up.

Cool thing about Phoenix area is that even though it is a major still has the feel of a town in many places.

My family and I went to the Gilbert Days Parade on Saturday. It was great! It was a bit lengthy (2 and a half hours) as compared to other parades. But, still great!

Chuck -  this is the time of year we wish the weather was made for a parade here.
It's time for the indoor festivites in WA but looks like perfect time for a parade in AZ
