Its Saturday and I am in the process of negotiating a purchase agreement on a property that I am interested in. Sometimes we forget the emotional roller coaster that buyers go through. I personally an numb to it, but I can see my wife isn't. I have bought and sold about 15 properties in the past 2 years. But never one that I was going to live in.
My wife, loves the house. For her it is security and a place to raise our daughter. I believe she sees this house as a home. A home that we will plant our roots, I see it as a financial tool. In it for a few years and then move on, use the equity to improve our financial portfolio.
I think I have lost sight of the compassion that our clients deserve. I manage 40 employees so I dont deal with our borrowers day in and day out. However, this was a great experience to carry over to my employees. We as professionals need to be more understanding of what our borrowers are going through. Buying a home or refinancing is a huge decision. For them its not just a short term decision.
