This is a good post. Some people that you would expect to know these things are misinformed about many of them. I have a hard time convincing potential buyers that keeping an old credit card that they don't use is far better than closing those accounts. They look at me funny when I try to explain that their score is better if they have available and unused credit than if they maintain significant balances on just a couple of cards.
