So I just jointed twitter...now what?

Upon reading a few of the most recently featured blogs about twitter I was compelled to look into it further.  I understand this is a communication platform but I guess I'm not exactly clear on what to do here.  I did invite about 60 people from my email contacts.  Any light that more experienced users can shed on the twitter app would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

First off, find some people you want to follow. The last thing you want is to just have a bunch of people following you and you don't have anything to say. Check into twitterectory or twitterpacks and find some like minded people that might have something to say. The smart thing to do is find people that have more knowledge of certain areas than you do. I was interested in learning more about SEO, so I found someone that is an expert and now I can take advantage of her tweets. I also hooked up with a photographer, great advice about taking pics for virtual tours and of course other agents for future referrals. If you can blog you can tweet. Best of luck and remember start following someone that is active on twitter so that you can get a good feel for what you should be doing, or at least what you want to be doing.

Thanks Malisia!  I think I'm catching on.  How often do you change what you are doing and what type of things do you say?  Is it more general or more specific?

I recently joined Twitter and still don't get it. But I'm trying! Good luck to you, Nick!

Just FYI.... http://tinyurl.com/7nrwwf

Twitter just got hacked about a week ago where these characters can leave any messages they please. Twiiter is also in Beta stage so they are still learning the ropes on security.

Here is the link to an article about it.
