Should I float? Should I lock? - Daily Update for Tuesday, November 18, 2008

By
Mortgage and Lending with Amerisave Mortgage Corporation

Here are the daily thoughts on floating or locking if you are asked by your clients.

As always - consult your favorite mortgage professional who will be able to offer the best advice for YOUR unique situation.

Producer Price Index (PPI) fell quite a bit more than expected though the core PPI (strips out energy and food) rose higher than expected.  Global markets fell again today with the US markets looking to fall again.

Technically speaking - the FNMA 6.0% 30 year bond is still below the 200 day moving average and attempting a climb back to above this key level.  The bond is still hovering just under the overbought state..

I am recommending to

  LOCK your mortgage rate.
