I recommend you go with the best website statistics company out there: Google Analytics.
They'll show you who is clicking into your site, where they're from, and when. You can send out a postcard or an email and check your site a few days later to see how it's working.

I can see how many visits, how many new/returning visits, the source of the visit (did they type in your web address, find you in google, come from a referring website, etc.) See what keywords people are using to find you and use that info to build up your keywords correctly. If you're using google adwords it tells you how well it's working and how many came from your adwords ads.
You don't know what good keywords are for you? Google has that too! Please note that about 15 key word phrases are good, but don't go crazy with it! Good keywords are:
- Your company name
- Your name
- Phrases that someone down the street would type in to find you like "Sacramento mortgage company" or "Sacramento Homes"
