The Credit Crunch And Home Staging: Your Options

Considering the global financial climate we are currently in the midst of, it would be lax not to talk about the credit crunch and the effect it is having on the housing market currently. Whilst it is an undeniable fact that house sales have gone down in recent months, which obviously applies on a global level and not just in Vancouver, that is not to say that you should not try to sell your home. Although everyone may not be able to borrow money for mortgages, there are people looking for decent homes still and staging could point them in the direction of buying yours. In fact, that is actually the golden rule at the moment - do not skimp on house staging no matter how little money you have.

It is absolutely essential to follow through with home staging if you want to sell your home. There are more than enough places on the market for potential buyers to go elsewhere if you do not take the time to stage your home so that they can see themselves in it. If you are not sure how to fluff your home on a budget then ask a home staging professional for advice, but never skip it altogether.

Avoiding home staging is effectively the worst thing you could do. Failing to depersonalise and declutter your home, attract natural light and optimise the placement of furniture does not make a good impression and that is more crucial now than ever. A first impression that is wholly positive will defy the credit crunch because someone will buy your home. That little bit of time and effort will be worth it.
