Cainhoy- Not what people think

Cainhoy to me was always the place I went by as I was headed to I526 or away from Hurricane Floyd (up 41 to 52 to columbia). I never paid attention to what was here.

In 2006 I had the opportunity to list and sell property in the Peninsula subdivision off Clements Ferry Rd. a great place. A planned community built by DR Horton with neatly tended lawns and gardens. The amenity center was one of the funniest looking places I'd seen in my travels. I found my self coming back to explore what else was out here in "the woods". What I found was great.

I found million dollar homes on the Wando, gated communities, middle class affordable housing, new subdivisions, new business and more of a neighborly attitude. I was sold!

In December of 2006 my wife Ann and I moved to Nelliefield Plantation. Ann has made it known that this is the last time "she" is moving. (Maybe she knows something I don't...) We both enjoy the area. Close enough to Mt. Pleasant and Daniel Island. Yet without the increased housing costs of those areas. A working person can still buy a newer home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths for under $230,000. More new homes are planned in the months to come.

So take a drive. Explore the area. Stop at the local eatery's for a great meal at reasonable prices. This area is the start of something big. Get in on the ground floor.
