Do relocation companies really work?

Good morning all -

I have recently been working with a relocation company. However, the buyer Im working with is a friend already. Unfortunately, Im forced to pay a fee to this company which ultimately is great because the company my friend works for is really taking care of him. But my question is this... If I paid upfront a company that "sends me quality leads," does it makes sense to pay a large upfront fee? I'd prefer a quick story from anyone interested in talking about. And maybe a company or two that works for them.
