Why do realtors pay so little attention to curb appeal

I am shocked by the lack of "go getter" that I am seeing in the real estate community in the present market. I am an outsider, although I was a licensed realtor back in the day in CT. What really amazes me is that just 2 -3 years ago realtors were laughing all the way to the bank. Remember taking offer after offer to their seller. Sellers were making multiple offers and everyone was making money.

Now when the times are tough most of the realtors that are left are just standing around waiting for the homes to sell themselves. In the old days realtors would arrange handy men and landscapers to visit the property to ensure the top dollar could be made. Now days a realtor calls them self a realtor when they call up a bank, get a few REOs, Stick a price on them and wait until the home falls apart form lack of maintenance or sells.

I work for a company that does REO lawn fixes. We paint the grass with a Natural green non toxic paint and the mulch is painted Red, Brown or Gold. The whole process takes 30 min cost about $175.00 and the home s Curb appeal is restored.

Do you know how many Realtors I have contacted and offered the service at cost just to make a REO property not be an eyesore in that area. Quite a few with very little response. Now we call the servicing company or the bank and alert them to the poor condition that the home is in. Usually that prompts a phone call from the REO holder to the realtor telling them to get on board. BUT WHY? why does a realtor think that listing a REO property is the only thing they should be concerned with? It is a shame that an industry like real estate seems to attract so many non professionals and yet to be successful you have to be more professional then most any other industry.

Okay I am done you get the point lets work together
