Neoreaders- The future

By
Real Estate Agent with Windermere

I've just seen the future and it is Neoreaders.  Basically it is a bar code Real Estate Agents can use in many ways. I call it The Bill-Board

When a smart phone is equipped with a Neoreader you take a picture of the reader (called a Q2 or Data Matrix code):

And you are directed to a web site.  This will take you to my site.

Getting a reader is simple and it will direct the smart phones to any web site you choose.

As agents we place one of these readers by our listing.  Buyers shoot the reader and zap, the web site for the property is now on their phone.

Here it is on my listing in Redmond.

Some phones have readers' standard now and it's easy to download.  Japan has been using it for years.  I heard kids have t-shirts printed with a Neoreader that links it to their ‘Myspace.'

In the future, newspaper ads would have Neoreaders so readers would zap the paper to learn everything about the listing.  Perhaps newspaper ads would become extremely valuable once again.

This is the future and I'd like to thank Brad Golik at John L Scott in Bellevue WA for telling me about this.

Hey Bill,

Just wanted to point out they are QR Codes, in a 2D format. If anyone would like to see how the applications can be put into use, feel free to visit one of my websites that explain it a little more: http://www.LakeSammamishEstate.com Go down to the QR Code and watch the video.

One thing to note. Most smart phones can't currently read flash, however with the neoreader, you will be able to read flash.

My websites, you will notice, have very large photos above the fold. This will make it very simple for buyers to see large clear pictures of my listings on their phone. This also leads me to discuss a previous topic that I have mentioned on my blog and that is having individual websites for your listings ~ http://activerain.com/blogs/novavector

Together, QR Codes and exclusive listing websites will open a whole new world for buyers on the go as well as the new generation of home buyers that are very tech savvy.

Best of luck

@ Brad

The 2D barcodes being used are Data Matrix codes and not QR codes. Just a friendly FYI.

QR Codes are data matrix codes! They are a registered trademark of a Japanese company. They are one in the same.

I guess the main point here is how they can add value to our clients!

Hey Michael,

I have good and bad results with both. NeoReader seems to be best on the first try. While I believe NeoReader is more internationally known, I think Microsoft Tags will gain much speed going forward.

Here in the land of MSFT, you would think more people would have the Tag app, but I seem to get more hits from the NeoReader so far.
