Holiday Home tour at Burnaby's Deer Lake

By
Home Stager with Twiques: The Art of Home Comfort

Phew!  What a busy day!  We just completed the decoration of two homes involved in the Holiday Home Tour setting out from Burnaby's Deer Lake this Sunday, November 23rd at 10:00.  We had a great time decorating two of the twelve homes involved in this year's tour in support of Ovarian Cancer Research.  In home number one we built on a red and white theme to complement the homeowner's neutral creamy white carpet and sofas.  In home number two we went a bit more classical with a cream, gold and burgundy theme.  Both homes turned out very well and both homeowners were thrilled.  If you get a chance to visit the homes this weekend and/or need more info regarding tickets you can either call Sacha Lehto at 604-675-8242 or slehto@bccancer.bc.ca or go online at http://www.bccancerfoundation.com/aholidayhometour .

Enjoy the photos below and have a great weekend!

I love how you exposed the white sofa on the right.  And the added touches of red, really made a difference.

Congratulations.  Your post is being featured in the group; Staging Before & After Pictures.

Thanks Kathy, I love how the room looks - so cozy, I'd love to see a fire in the fireplace, that would just add to the hominess of it!

Judith ~ Very nice!  How did you get the stockings to hang on the fireplace (no mantel?)?

Thanks Kathy ~ stagers trick, handy, dandy packing tape to hold the stockings in place ~ the homeowner did not want to put screws or nails into the rock and as the stockings are not filled it worked nicely ~ the roughness of the rock would have held the felt of the stockings, however, we didn't want them to fall, so used the packing tape for extra insurance.

Judith,

How fun this project must have been, and for a great cause, good for you!  The house looks fantastic!  I'm sure that the homeowners were very pleased and the guests who came through the tour must have been very impressed!

Michelle,

Thanks for your input ~ I was at the Home Tour today and by noon 75 people had visited the home, they all were enjoying the tour of 12 houses and we had a beautiful day so many were walking the tour.  A great event for all!

Nice job Judith. I have clients that have me decorate their homes every year for the holidays. It is a great source of income in the slow months.
