When I first started this business almost 2 years ago. I had quite a bit of time to market. I could spend all day planning and executing my strategies.
Now that I have work, marketing has fallen by the side. I run a design and staging business. I spend my day sourcing, meeting with clients, consults etc. The taking of actual time to plan marketing my business is almost non existant.
Now I am still networking and schmoozing, which is very important, but marketing and getting your name out there is still quite important. I see other stagers in newspaper articles. So now I have to get my act together.
It is evident marketing should always be active in our businesses. Just look at the big department stores, local furniture storesetc, they always continue to market.
I think I am going to practice what I preach in one of the courses I teach at the local college. Time management - I need to record what I do. Then analyze what I do. Schedule activities needing to be done, then periodically reassesing the schedule. I am going to start setting aside booked time just for marketing. So that I can have more effective outcomes with marketing.
