What a great night at the Domain! The giant Christmas Tree in front of Macy's was lit and people of all ages clamored to be a part of this annual event!
Throngs of people milled around waiting to "ooh and aah" over the tree and got to do it again when the fireworks went off! It was a magical evening!
The Century Oaks Park held many people, listening and dancing to the jazz band while many children were entertained by the kid's area. Pictures in front of the enormous fireplace & hearth with its roaring fire were being taken for family Christmas cards and letters.
There are great restaurants to choose from and our favorite is "North", a modern Italian cuisine located at 11506 Century Oaks Terrace. You must try their "Zucca" chips. We sat on the terrace and had a bird's eye view of all the festivities. They have a great menu with an extended wine list.
Joe DiMaggio's is another favorite restaurante and they sport a large outdoor area complete with a firepit to huddle around and get in the holiday mood!
From the first week-end after Thanksgiving until Christmas, Saturday night around 7-8pm you can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display, catch a carriage ride under the lights and catch a story time with Santa. There will be holiday specials with local entertainment groups.

The Domain is ideally situated in NW Austin along North MoPac (Loop 1) between Braker Lane and Burnet Road. The Domain is still evolving and many say this is "new urbanism". The Domain Gateway is currently under construcion. It is a 5 story class A office tower located at the community Burnet Road entrance. This will be right next to the current retail and residential districts. It will also have access to a Capital Metro computer rail stop. A 9 acre park is also being added to the community.
Whole Foods is currently breaking ground for a spectacular new store.
