Thanksgiving is a North American Holiday (yes, our friends to the North with the maple leaf on their flag celebrate Thanksgiving too... only on October 13, this year... the second Monday in October. Happy Canuck Thanksgiving Liz Moras!)... and in both cases it's basically a Harvest Holiday.
How can we, as Realtors, relate to Thanksgiving? While we've had a difficult year (or two)... we still have much to be grateful for (or should):
• We're grateful that our clients continue to consider us their resource for all things "Real Estate". They call us with regularity asking our opinion on the latest newspaper article, on the latest uptick in the interest rate, on Bernanke's last press conference.
• We're grateful that our office remains positive, and our friends and colleagues are able to feed and clothe their families.
• We're grateful that as Realtors, our career has funded school, vacations, college careers for our children, ongoing education and enlightenment for ourselves and family members.
• We'll BE grateful once active brad has this silly HTML problem fixed. (we really want to be grateful Brad... really, really, really!)
• We're grateful that our job allows the flexibility to share our time with our friends and families. Because without friends and family, job has no meaning.
• We're grateful that we never followed cousin Earle into his position at AIG.
• We're grateful to be knowledgeable, and in the trenches of the grassroots of the current economic crisis.
• We're grateful that we have the ear of lenders and economists, so that we can pass honest information on to our clientele.
• We're grateful that we counselled our clients NOT to accept that low interest 30-day ARM.
• We're grateful to be a part of one of the best, and most rewarding (not just financially) careers there is.
• We're grateful that 2008 is almost behind us.
• We're grateful that our chosen profession gives us entry to Active Rain... a great and active think tank of real estate knowledge.
• And we're grateful for our families and friends
