Motivated sellers coming together with bargain-hunting buyers is a “once in a lifetime event,” says Rob Kelly, Realtor with RE/MAX Alliance real estate , and organizer of the Denver Foreclosure Tour. “First-time buyers, investors, contractors, or just people with vision, are all perfect matches for these sellers.” On Saturday December 13, 2008 from 9-1 PM, Mr. Kelly is taking a bus load of prospective buyers to view 6-8 homes in Thornton, Northglenn and Westminster, CO.  These cities are "bedroom" communities located within a 20 minute commute of Denver, Colorado.

International Interest...from Japan!

Our first tour on November 15th was a big hit, and we have since gathered international attention!  A film crew from NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) (http://www.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld) will be filming our tour for inclusion  in a two-hour New Year's Special program.  The Japanese are very interested in how the economic downturn may have affected peoples lives and are very much interested in participating in a Foreclosure Bus Tour.

What we'll see on this tour...

The homes featured will include Bank owned and HUD homes. All are in some state of distress. They may be bank-owned, in need of repair, sitting vacant, have a very motivated seller, or going through a “short sale”, a process where the lender discounts a portion of the mortgage balance.

Rolling Classroom setting...

The tour is a 3 hour "Rolling Classroom" that offers education and plenty of time for questions of their Licensed Realtor, Certified Home Inspector and Licensed Mortgage Broker. In addition, an Attorney Kurt Hofgard will be available for questions regarding LLC's, Wills and Trusts.

Maybe the Japanese are also interested in buying up some properties like they did back in the early 1980s. I think fully 50% of my home inspections this year have been for non-Americans.
